Tim McGrath was selected to replace Wes Bryan as president of Golden West College, following a unanimous vote of approval during the Board of Trustees meeting last night.

“I’m honored to join the Golden West College community and to have this new opportunity to be part of the amazing team at Golden West College and to work within the Coast Community College District,” said McGrath in a district press release, who for nine years has worked at San Diego Mesa College as the Vice President of Instruction.

Wes Bryan, who has served as GWC President for 13 years, will retire in June. According to Letitia Clark, district director of public affairs, the search for Bryan’s was a months-long, nationwide search. Bryan and McGrath were both in attendance at the vote of approval Wednesday night.

“Tim McGrath is an experienced leader who brings a strong record of innovation to Golden West College,” said district Chancellor, John Weispfenning in a press release. “I’m looking forward to having Tim as a member of our leadership team.”
